The 26th China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou)(“CIFF”) is to be held concurrently with Homedecor + Hometextile China 2010 at the China Import & Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China on September 3rd-6th, 2010. Focusing on the “Export Orientation” principle, CIFF 2010 September will bring buyers and visitors more added value with more selected products and designs.
The [S] Table was created as a site-specific piece. However, it may exist in any social context as a “third wheel” of sorts. Its formal expression is created via two parts that interact together to create a stable eating/working surface and is intended to evoke conversation and provide various zones of interaction between users. Therefore, the overall size and materiality are adaptable to any setting, making it secondary to its overall form and spirit. In this instance, white oak was chosen to create a balance between the raised wood platform and the slate floor of the apartment. The table acts like a hinge, bridging the surrounding functional zones, one to the next. Its tongue and groove assembly of overlapping joinery at the two ends celebrates the end grain of wood while also providing for greater lateral stability. The linear cutouts provide a sense of lightness, placing no emphasis on any one particular surface. Once the Glass Top is placed atop the wood base, the usable surface increases allowing it to function more formally.

The Coca-Cola Company and Emeco have combined their iconic products, the Coca-Cola contour bottle package and the famous Navy Chair, to create a new chair made from at least 111 recycled plastic bottles. The aptly named “111 Navy Chair” debuts this week at the 2010 Salone Internazionale del Mobile, one of the top furniture trade shows in the world held here on April 14-19.
Designed by Belgian design brand Quinze & Milan for backpack company Eastpak, this sofa will be shown off at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan next month. I simply like the pockets cover the sofa, it’s so stylish yet functional.
Designed by Dutch designer Mike Meijer, the bed ‘Blend’ merging bed and chairs becomes one new object. I think it’s cool idea and look goods, very simple and functional.
