Anemos by Andreas Varotsos for Varangis

Andreas Varotsos has designed the Anemos for the Greek manufacturer Varangis.

The headboard of this demountable wooden frame bed, available in eco-friendly walnut veneer, uses one single sheet of bent curved floating wood. Instead of covering its surface with an inhibit-ing barrier film, the 12mm walnut veneer is open-pore painted, bringing out the wood’s natural grain and inherent beauty. Its freedom and lightness of form create a play of light and shadow like the cascading effect of pleated shades fluttering in the Greek summer wind. l 220 x w 200 (160) x h 100 cm
